1. What is FCBL? When does FCBL season start and end?
Fairfield County Basketball League
Organization (FCBL) is a town based organization that includes both league/non-league games and tournaments for both boys and girls grade 5th -8th. FCBL host, Fairfield, New Haven, Hartford and Westchester counties, totaling over 350 teams.
FCBL season can start as early as November and will run through the end of February, with playoffs starting in March, CT Dynasty’s 5th and 6th grade teams will participate in town play.
On average, CT Dynasty schedules approximately 23 or more games per season.
2. When does CT Dynasty host tryouts for FCBL & Travel Basketball?
Tryouts are generally hosted on or around the 2nd and 3rd weekends in September. Tryouts are conducted in a skill assessment format. Tryouts may be conducted over the course of two separate days to give an accurate assessment of each Student-Athlete. Tryouts for the 5th & 6th grade teams will commence on the first scheduled weekend, with the 7th & 8th tryouts taking place on the following weekend.
Please note, once tryouts are completed and the final team selections are made, CT Dynasty will hold a mandatory three session skills and drills camp prior to the start of each respective teams practice.
The purpose of the skills and drills sessions, is to provide CT Dynasty coaches with a more accurate snapshot of both the strengths and weakness of each student-athlete. This insight will allow the coaching staff to train each player based on their individual skill set, in effort to create a more well-rounded player.
3. What is CT Dynasty Travel Basketball?
CT Dynasty Travel Basketball program promotes and supports competitive basketball to enhance and improve our players starting in the 5th grade, while fostering a positive environment of sportsmanship and teamwork. Building our players at such a young age for elite competition allows them the opportunity develop their discipline, effort, and communication the elite level requires. CT Dynasty Travel Basketball offers the opportunity for any Fairfield County athlete to play in 5th through 8th grade boys basketball competition. CT Dynasty encourages growth as an individual, but within a team concept. We prepare our players and teams for elite status for elite competition.
4. What is AAU? When does AAU start and end?

AAU serves as a leader in the international sporting league representing the US with its philosophy being “sports for all”
AAU runs yearly from August to August for grades 5-8. Grades 9-12 are conducted upon the conclusion of the high school basketball season.
CT Dynasty’s AAU season runs from April to July, with tryouts being hosted on, or around the last weekend in February and the first weekend in March.
5. CT Dynasty Coaches
CT Dynasty coaches are hired coaches, with a passion for teaching the game of basketball. Our coaches are all certified under the National Alliance of Youth Sports (NAYS). CT Dynasty carries an extremely high value in our coaches by requiring our coaches to attend mandatory coaching clinics annually. We believe in the power of brotherhood, teaching our student-athletes the value of teamwork.
6. What is the difference between donations & sponsorships? How is the money used?
Donations: are goods or monies bestowed upon the organization for offsetting programmatic expenses pertaining to operational fees (i.e. gym time, insurance, etc.)
Sponsorships: like donations, are monetary gifts bestowed upon the organization with the similar purpose of offsetting programmatic costs (i.e. advertising, hosting home games, and gym time) however- CT Dynasty agrees to provide sponsorships recognition via social media, t-shirts, banners website and AD booklet annually.
